CHANGE with Kizzy Gardiner – the UK’s first Locum MP

How do we create CHANGE? My guest Kizzy Gardiner, is the first official maternity cover EVER appointed to be an MP – isn’t that mad and frankly astonishing? And it’s an “experiment”. We explore stepping into new spaces, allyship + feminism and bearing the honour and burden as a pioneering woman.

Kizzy Gardiner is the UKs first Locum MP covering the maternity leave of Stella Creasy MP, Labour and Cooperative member of Parliament for Walthamstow. Prior to this role, Kizzy worked in International Development with some of the UKs biggest charities specialising in community engagement. Kizzy is a mother to 4yo Tilly and is passionate about the need for equality and diversity in the workplace, focusing on BAME communities, women in leadership and flexible working for parents.

What we cover:

  • Women in Politics
  • Maternity Leave
  • Social change
